If you have some data that you want to use to help convey your point, then Tome's Chart tile is for you! Whether you have a rich CSV to turn into a scatter plot or just want to throw in some rough estimates for a bar chart, Tome's Chart tile supports variety and flexibility in how you visualize your data while also being easy to format.

How to add a Chart tile

While editing or creating a tome, click the 'Add chart' button (look for the πŸ“ˆ icon) on the right side panel to bring up the different Chart options in Tome (currently supported Chart types include: Line Graph, Area Chart, Vertical Bar, Horizontal Bar, Scatter Plot, Pie Chart).

Click or drag your preferred chart style to add it to your tome.

Uploading data to the Chart tile

Now that you have a Chart tile, let's add some data to it.

Click on the Chart tile and then click the 3 dots "..." button at the top of the tile to open the options menu. From here you can click Upload CSV to upload a .CSV file to populate the chart.

If you'd like to edit the underlying data directly in Tome, open the options menu again and click Edit data to surface the underlying data table that the Chart tile uses. You can also use this feature without uploading a CSV to create simple charts or data visualizations.

Formatting the Chart tile

We have data in the chart but it's missing a few things... like axes labels!

You can add axis labels and more by opening the same options menu. Use the corresponding sections to toggle Chart type, Series name (along with visibility and color!), Chart title, axis labels, and axes minimums and maximums.

Using AI to produce a Chart

If you're using our Create a presentation feature, you can actually request charts to be generated as part of your presentation! Simply request a chart and provide some guidance on the content and our AI will do its best to generate the relevant chart. You can still edit these charts using the tips shared in this article.
