Tl;dr: you can just share your Tome via link by going into a tome, clicking the share menu, setting the "Anyone with link" toggle to Can play and then just sending the link out to recipients. If you need more detailed instructions, read on!

How do I share my Tome by link?

To share a tome link you will want to first confirm that your tome has the right sharing setting enabled. After confirming this, you can share by simply grabbing the link from the Share menu or from the browser search bar and sending it your recipient! We'll explain how to do both in this article.

Note: While viewers do not need a Tome account to view your work, Tome links are set by default to not allow anyone with the link to access the content.

Enabling the link sharing setting

To make sure anyone with a link to your tome can view tome's content, you need to do the following:

  1. Open the tome you're trying to share by link

  2. Click the "Share" button in the top right of the editing screen

  3. Locate the "Anyone with link" section, then click the toggle to the right of it (it looks like text, but is actually a button). This will open a dropdown menu.

  4. Select the Can play option.

  5. Your tome will now be viewable to anyone with a link to the tome!

Sending the link

To grab the link to your tome, you can simply grab a link to the tome by pressing the Copy link button in the Share menu. You can also obtain it from the browser search bar.

Link to a specific page

If you'd like to link to a specific page in your tome:

  • Go to the page you want to link to in your tome

  • Open the Share menu in the top right of the tome editing screen

  • Toggle the checkbox to the left of "Link to current page" and and then press the "Copy link" button.

  • The link copied to your clipboard will link out to the page you have open

Why should I share my Tome by link instead of a file?

Tomes viewed by URL are more responsive (will resize depending on device!), have better media support (like audio/video), and enable you to understand your audience better with Engagement analytics. Viewers do not need a Tome account to view your presentation.
