Simplify the way you organize and share your work. Whether your organization organizes by account, client or project, Folders allow you to share tomes by the categories that make sense to you.
Getting Started with Folders
You can create new folders and browse existing folders from Workspace page, accessible by going to tome.app while signed in or by pressing the "<" button in the top left while editing a tome.
Creating New folders
While on the workspace page, click on the Create folder button under the
Folders
section in the left side panel.Upon clicking the Create folder button, you will be prompted to:
Title your folder: Enter a name for your folder to help you identify it later. This can be an Account, Team or Project.
Invite teammates: If you are collaborating with others, you can invite them to access the folder.
If a teammate is not invited to the folder and the folder is not shared to the entire workspace, that teammate will not be able to access the folder. In this way, you can consider the folder "hidden".
Adding Tomes to Your Folders
Once you've set up some folders, you can start adding tomes to the folders. You can do this in two ways:
From the Workspace page
Find the tome you want to organize.
Click the “…” button next to the title of the tome.
Select the "Add to folder" option to move the tome to your desired folder.
While editing a tome
If you are currently editing a tome and decide to move it to a different folder, click the “…” button located in the top right corner of the screen.
Select the "Add to folder" option to move the tome to your desired folder.
Updating Folder Permissions
The owner of a folder (the account that created the folder) can update who can access the folder by clicking into the folder and using the "Share" button in the top right of the folder. This will open a sharing menu where the owner can invite other members of the workspace to the folder:
Upon entering an email and selecting a teammate, the teammate will appear in the list of folder members. The owner can adjust the permissions of the folder members to three levels:
Can view
: can access a folder and view the tomes in itCan edit
:can access a folder and view the tomes in it
edit tomes in folder
rename the folder
Can manage
:can access a folder and view the tomes in it
edit tomes in folder
rename the folder
manage sharing permissions of folder, except changing the folder owner
add/remove tomes from folder
adjust sharing permissions of tomes in folder
Use these controls to ensure the right teammates have the right level of access!
